Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie has announced the official establishment of the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences, which has been formally accredited by the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The new faculty will offer three specialized programs: Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics, Medical Laboratory Sciences, and Medical Imaging and Diagnostic Radiology. This step marks a significant milestone in the university’s academic and developmental journey.
On this occasion, University President Prof. Hussain Shanak extended his congratulations to the entire Kadoorie community — including academic and administrative staff, students, alumni, and academic councils — on this national achievement, which further strengthens the university’s status and role as a leading higher education institution.
He emphasized that this decision is the result of sustained efforts reflecting the university's commitment to its developmental vision and strategic expansion to better serve Palestinian society.
Prof. Shanak noted that the accreditation of the new faculty enables the university to broaden its portfolio of high-quality medical programs with scientific and technical depth. It also provides students with greater opportunities to pursue specializations aligned with the needs of the healthcare sector, while reinforcing the university’s community role in advancing sustainable development.
He also expressed appreciation for the pivotal role of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, led by H.E. Minister Prof. Amjad Barham, and the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission, for their support of the Palestinian higher education system and their direct contribution to approving and accrediting the new faculty.
The University President highlighted that the launch of this new faculty is a qualitative addition to the institution’s academic landscape, noting that Kadoorie has grown into a prominent national academic hub with a presence extending from the north to the south of Palestine.
He reaffirmed the university’s commitment to expanding and enhancing its academic programs to meet the needs of the Palestinian people—particularly in the vital healthcare sector.
