Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie (PTUK), in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, concluded the STEM Exploration Days Program, hosted by the University for the fourth consecutive year. The program brought together school students from the Tulkarm and Qalqilya Directorates of Education under joint academic and educational supervision.
Prior to the closing ceremony, Prof. Hussein Shanak, President of PTUK, received a delegation from the Tulkarm Directorate of Education, headed by its Director, Mr. Yasser Mustafa. The meeting highlighted the importance of continued cooperation between the University and the Ministry in implementing scientific and practical programs for school students and enabling them to benefit from PTUK's academic environment, laboratories, and scientific facilities.
Prof. Shanak reaffirmed PTUK's commitment to serving the community and strengthening partnerships with educational institutions, providing students with opportunities to experience university life firsthand and explore science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through hands-on learning and experimentation. He noted that hosting such programs supports the University's efforts to promote scientific awareness and encourage innovation and exploration among students.
Mr. Mustafa praised PTUK for hosting the program and providing the academic and laboratory resources that contributed to its success. He also commended the University's administration, the Faculty of Applied Sciences, faculty and technical staff, supervisors, and organizers, stressing the importance of continuing cooperation between the Ministry and the University in programs that connect school students with university life and practical applications of science.
During the closing ceremony, Dr. Rizq Istitieh, Vice President for Administrative Affairs, praised the collaborative efforts behind the program and emphasized the importance of giving students firsthand exposure to laboratories, scientific and technological developments, and the practical foundations of science. He expressed his appreciation to the supervisors, the Directorate of Education, the Faculty of Applied Sciences, the student unions, and everyone who contributed to the program's success.
On behalf of the supervisors and organizers, Rawaa Musa emphasized that the program was more than a one-time activity; it provided a space for creativity and experimentation, enabling students to transform ideas into practical applications. She highlighted the collective efforts of the University community, supervisors, organizers, and participating students as a key factor in achieving the program's objectives.
Participating students also shared their appreciation of the experience, highlighting the opportunities it provided for learning, experimentation, and direct engagement with scientific applications. They noted that the program broadened their knowledge, strengthened their interest in science and technology, and enabled them to turn what they learned into practical experiments and ideas in the University's laboratories.
The STEM program featured a series of activities and experiments in science, mathematics, engineering, and technology, conducted in PTUK laboratories under the supervision of faculty members, laboratory supervisors, research and teaching assistants, outstanding students, and accompanying educational supervisors and teachers.
The program concluded with the recognition of participants and those involved in its implementation, reaffirming the importance of continued cooperation between PTUK and the Ministry of Education and expanding programs that provide school students with hands-on scientific experiences, foster curiosity, and develop their innovation and problem-solving skills.
