KadoorieConcludes the Events of theFirst Day of the Undergraduate Research and Innovation Conference in Engineering and Information Technology


with the participation of a hundred innovative project from various Palestinian universities engineering departments, Palestine Technical University - Kadoorie organized the first day of the scientific conference under the title”Undergraduate Research and Innovation Conference in Engineering and Information Technology”.
The conference was held with the participation of manyinternational experts, academics, and Palestinians expatriate and with the presence of the Minister of Education and Higher Education- Dr.SabriSaidam, the Minister of communications and information technology -Dr. AllamMousa, the president of Al-Quds University- Dr.Imad Abu Keshek and the president of Palestine Polytechnic University -Dr.ImadKhatibin addition to a large crowd of Engineering students.
At the opening ceremony of the conference, Dr.Awartani- the President of Palestine Technical University-called for collective action to develop a national strategy for innovation and active partnerships with both the governmental and private sectorsas well as the entire knowledge society at home and abroad in order to constitute a system of national innovation that would contributeto full integration between all institutions.
Dr. Awartani also emphasized that the conference was organized in accordance with international norms and principles followed in the organization of scientific conferences thus constituting a qualitative addition to the Palestinian higher education and a step forward to make scientific research and innovation a key focus within the university educational system.

In turn, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology Dr.AllamMousa stressed the importance of the conference especially because it is based on research and technology which are the levers of development in Palestine and that can help us overcome the obstacles set by occupation and geographical borders.
In its first day, the conference included an exhibition of a hundred innovative graduation projects for engineering undergraduate andinformation technology students from different Palestinian universities, in addition to hosting selected elites from emerging entrepreneurial companies.
During the conference, a number of international experts including Prof. Adnan Nayfeh, Prof. Larry Silverberg, Prof.Fouad Iraqi and Dr. Omar Awartanidelivered lecturesin different fields of engineering.
At the end of the first day the names of the ten best student projects in the field of Engineering and Technology were announced and the winners were awarded.
