The Assistant of the University’s President atKadoorieMeets with the Turkish Ambassador

The Assistant of the President of Palestine Technical University- Kadoorie- dr. DirarEleyyan met with the new Turkish ambassador- H.E. Kurgan Turkuğlu, in the presence of the governor of Tulkarem, the deans of the faculties and Turkish universities alumni.
In this context, Dr. DirarEleyyan welcomed the Turkish Ambassador congratulating him on his new position as the Ambassador of Turkey in the State of Palestine, pointing to the strength of relationships between the Palestinians and the Turks and stressing the importance of academic cooperation between Kadoorie and Turkish universities, especially with regards to academic exchange programs and joint projects in the context of EU Program for education, training, youth and sport(Erasmus +).
Eleyyan also referred to the joint projects’ proposals submitted to the Turkish Agency for International Cooperation (TAICA) to rehabilitate the memorial monument that sets in the university campus to commemorate the lives of First World War martyrs and the possibility of supporting the construction of a dormitory and agricultural college in Kadoorie.
For his part, the ambassador expressed his delighthighlighting that the statistics show the academic excellence of Palestinian students in Turkish universities in comparison to their foreign counterparts and the depth of the political relations between the two countries.
Parallel to the visit, the delegation went in a tour around the campus and paid tribute to the lives of First World War martyrs.
