Kadoorie and Partners Honor Teachers in Southern West Districts

As part of the Palestinian Teachers’ Day celebrations, Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie, in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and the General Union of Palestinian Teachers, continued honoring pioneering teachers from the districts of Hebron, North Hebron, Yatta, South Hebron, and Bethlehem.

The event was attended by the Minister of Education and Higher Education, Dr. Amjad Barham, the University President, Prof. Hussein Shank, a member of the General Secretariat of the Palestinian Teachers' Union, Mr. Ali Al-Douda, as well as representatives from official, civil, and community institutions.

Recognizing Teachers’ Pivotal Role
In his remarks, Prof. Shank highlighted that honoring Palestinian teachers, who have left an indelible mark on the field of education, is the least that can be done for these dedicated and committed educators.

He pointed out that teachers’ work intersects with all facets of society, extending their influence across various aspects of life, which solidifies their leading role within the community.

In his speech, Dr. Barham renewed his gratitude to teachers across all governorates, praising their significant role in nurturing and supporting generations. He lauded their perseverance despite challenging circumstances, particularly in Gaza, Jerusalem, and Area C. He also called for providing all necessary resources to support teachers and meet their needs in ways that positively impact the entire educational system.

Union’s Commitment to Teachers
Mr. Al-Douda commended the teachers who have shouldered great responsibilities and continue to confront various challenges and obstacles. He praised their resilience and steadfastness in the face of occupation, emphasizing that the General Union of Palestinian Teachers remains committed to supporting, protecting, and advocating for them. He affirmed the Union's dedication to securing their just rights.
