Dr. Shireen Hijazi, Head of the Computer Science Department at the Faculty of Information Technology at Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie, represented the university at the inaugural International Conference on Computational Intelligence Approaches and Applications ICCIAA 2025.
The event, hosted by Petra University in Jordan from April 28 to 30, 2025, welcomed researchers from around the globe.
Dr. Hijazi presented a research paper titled:
“Evaluating Factors Influencing University Ranking Based on QS World Ranking 2023–2024 Using Machine Learning Algorithms.”
The paper analyzed 22 key factors affecting university rankings, drawing on data from approximately 1,500 universities. By employing machine learning algorithms, the research identified academic reputation, citation count, and sustainability as the most influential factors.
The paper is set to be published on IEEE Xplore, indexed in the Scopus database. It garnered significant attention from participants and organizers alike, praised for its scientific rigor and innovative methodology.
