A delegation from the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Technology at Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie, including Dr. Wafa Masoud, Dr. Basel Al-Natsheh, Dr. Mazen Salman, and Engineer Safa Hamdan, visited Catalonia, Spain, as part of the "Smart Farm and Climate Change" project.
This initiative is a collaboration between the University of Barcelona, the Palestinian Farmers Union, and Kadoorie, funded by the Catalan Agency for Peace and Equality.
During their visit, the delegation toured several academic and research institutions, including the University of Barcelona, the University of Girona, Polytechnic University, Girona Zoo, and the Water and Agricultural Research Center in Girona.
The delegation explored cutting-edge technologies in smart agriculture and water purification for reuse and discussed pressing agricultural challenges, particularly climate change and the impact of Israeli practices in Palestine, especially in Tulkarem.
The visit concluded with agreements to establish student exchange programs and cooperation between the Catalan universities and Kadoorie, as well as expanding joint research projects focused on agriculture and water management.
