The President of Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie PTUK, Prof. Hussein Shanak, received Dr. Mohammad Khaskieh, Head of Government Scholarship Programs at the German Academic Exchange Service DAAD for the Middle East and North Africa region, and his accompanying delegation. The visit aimed to strengthen academic and research collaboration and promote the exchange of expertise between the two institutions.
Prof. Shanak welcomed the visiting delegation, reaffirming the University’s commitment to expanding international cooperation with German academic institutions, particularly in the areas of scholarships, scientific research, and academic exchange. He also emphasized the importance of learning the German language for PTUK students, as it opens opportunities to participate in specialized programs and training courses in Germany.
During the meeting, Prof. Shanak presented an overview of the University’s Dual Studies Program, which integrates academic learning with practical training in the private sector to enhance students’ readiness for both local and international labor markets.
For his part, Dr. Khaskieh praised PTUK’s significant role and distinguished standing in Palestinian higher education, commending the excellence of its students and the diversity of its academic programs. He expressed DAAD’s keen interest in deepening cooperation with PTUK in ways that benefit both students and academic staff.
The visit reflects PTUK’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its international partnerships and open new horizons for its students and staff to benefit from global expertise in education, research, and applied training.
The meeting was also attended by Dr. Yehya Istateyeh, Assistant to the University President for Branch Affairs; Prof. Gholtan Hijazi, Director of the Ramallah Branch; Mr. Omar Joudeh, Director of Public Relations; and Ms. Diala Ibrahim.
