PTUK and Ministry of Culture Sign MoU to Promote Volunteerism

Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie PTUK and the Palestinian Ministry of Culture signed a memorandum of understanding MoU aimed at strengthening institutional partnership, promoting a culture of volunteerism among students, and integrating national and cultural values into academic and community programs.

The signing ceremony took place at the Ministry’s headquarters in Ramallah, with PTUK President Prof. Hussein Shanak and Minister of Culture Mr. Imad Abdullah Hamdan signing the agreement. The event was attended by Dr. Jultan Hijazi, Director of PTUK’s Ramallah Branch, along with several representatives from both sides.

Minister Hamdan welcomed the PTUK delegation, praising the university’s pioneering role in advancing higher education and fostering national identity among students. He emphasized that the partnership reflects the Ministry’s vision of building strong collaborations with academic institutions to promote national culture and instill volunteerism as a core social value.

Prof. Shanak highlighted that the MoU marks a strategic step toward strengthening the synergy between academic and cultural institutions, helping to prepare a conscious and proactive generation of students who take pride in their national identity and engage effectively in community service. He added that the university seeks through this cooperation to expand student participation in cultural activities and deepen their sense of belonging, giving, and social responsibility.

The agreement outlines joint programs and activities, including art exhibitions, theatrical performances, and awareness seminars. It also provides for student participation in national cultural events organized by the Ministry, as well as the use of PTUK’s facilities to host and support such initiatives. Moreover, the MoU includes the exchange of expertise and the development of student-led cultural and community initiatives to enhance the national cultural movement.
