PTUK Celebrates Participants in Arab Students Excellent Forum

Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie PTUK organized an appreciation ceremony today in honor of the participants, trainers, and organizers of the Arab Student Excellence and Creativity Forum, in recognition of their active role in making the event a success.

The ceremony was attended by PTUK President Prof. Hussein Shanak, Board of Trustees member Dr. Ziad Al-Taneh, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Forum Chair Dr. Mu’tamad Al-Khatib, Forum Coordinator Dr. Ahmed Ammar, President of the Workers’ Union Dr. Atta Bilalem, along with the trainers and staff members who contributed to organizing the forum.

Prof. Shanak praised the attendees and the organizing team, commending the leading role played by the participants. He noted that this effort reflects the honorable image of PTUK’s academic and administrative staff and aligns with the university’s policy of expanding its engagement with universities worldwide.

He emphasized that this initiative demonstrates the university’s ability to lead creative endeavors that serve the academic community locally and regionally, describing it as an extension of the Palestinian people’s long-standing contributions to education at all levels.

He stressed the importance of continuing such initiatives, which help place PTUK among leading global universities. He expressed pride in the university’s staff and students, who consistently present distinguished examples of Palestinian academic excellence in various fields. He added that the Arab students who took part in the forum have now become ambassadors for PTUK, which is a source of pride for the institution.

Dr. Ziad Al-Taneh also praised the efforts of the university’s staff, affirming that the achievements of the forum reflect PTUK’s strong institutional foundation and the ability of its personnel to accomplish great work despite the challenging conditions facing the educational environment in Palestine. He explained that the university’s successes are rooted in a highly competent and committed workforce, which is evident in the quality of its initiatives and events—most notably this forum, which served as a model of professional and collaborative work.

Forum Coordinator Dr. Ahmed Ammar, who moderated the event, stated that the appreciation ceremony was organized to acknowledge the academic and administrative teams who contributed to the forum’s success. He highlighted that they voluntarily offered specialized scientific training sessions to hundreds of Arab students from across the region.

These collective efforts, he said, produced a highly successful initiative that added significant value to the university’s mission, reflecting not only PTUK’s excellence but also Palestine’s ability to foster creativity and deliver its scientific message to the Arab world despite challenges.
For his part, Dr. Al-Khatib explained that PTUK has an ongoing student-exchange process; however, political circumstances limit it to one-way exchange, allowing PTUK students to participate abroad while preventing the university from hosting foreign students. The forum, therefore, filled this gap—albeit virtually—through online learning. He emphasized that the initiative’s success is attributable to the dedication and commitment of the university’s staff.

President of the Workers’ Union Dr. Bilalem expressed his pride in the university staff’s achievements at various levels, affirming their ability to uphold the institution’s mission and represent it honorably wherever they go. He noted that PTUK’s academic and administrative teams have repeatedly proven their readiness for excellence, innovation, and service.

He added that the forum’s success and the voluntary work behind it reflect the professionalism and strong sense of belonging characteristic of the university’s employees.

The ceremony concluded with an open discussion for feedback and suggestions, followed by the presentation of appreciation awards to the participants.
