The Center for the Care of Persons with Disabilities at Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie organized a recreational activity in partnership with the Coordinating Committee for Persons with Disabilities and under the patronage of the Tulkarm Governorate.
The event, held on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, targeted participants aged 5 to 20 and was attended by the President of the Union of Persons with Disabilities, Mr. Majdi Mar’i.
Mr. Rif’at Thiyab, representing the Governorate, praised the university for organizing and hosting the event, commending the role of institutions working in this field and emphasizing the importance of supporting persons with disabilities and protecting their educational and professional rights.
Mr. Dhafer Hassouna, Coordinator of the Center at PTUK, welcomed the attendees on behalf of the university’s administration, appreciating the efforts of partner institutions. He stressed the importance of sustaining support for people with disabilities and integrating them into all activities, in line with the university’s belief that persons with disabilities are an essential part of societal development.
Hassouna noted that the activity aims to integrate students with disabilities inside and outside the university into recreational programs, enhance their interaction with peers without disabilities, promote awareness of their rights, and bring joy to participants in this age group.
The event featured various interactive activities, with an emphasis on the importance of continuing such initiatives and developing joint programs between the university and partner institutions to strengthen the inclusion of persons with disabilities in educational, social, and professional life.
