PTUK Explores Cooperation with Finnish International Foundation

   Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie received Dr. Sultan Yassin, Senior Advisor at CMI – Martti Ahtisaari Peace Foundation, an international Finnish organization specializing in conflict resolution and peacebuilding.

The meeting was hosted by Dr. Raed Al-Qarout, Dean of Development and Community Service, on behalf of University President Prof. Hussein Shanak, and was attended by Foundation Advisor Suwar Odeh and representatives of the University’s Development and Community Service Deanship.

Discussions focused on prospects for cooperation and networking between the University and the Foundation in ways that serve the local community and strengthen the University’s role in hosting dialogue-based and developmental initiatives across Palestinian governorates.

Dr. Al-Qarout affirmed the University’s commitment to international partnerships that empower youth and expand their engagement in constructive dialogue, highlighting the University’s readiness to host programs and activities aligned with its community and development mission.

Dr. Yassin outlined the Foundation’s vision of implementing projects targeting local communities, particularly youth, with an emphasis on assessing their realities and challenges, exploring future prospects, and fostering inclusive dialogue spaces. The possibility of selecting the University as a host institution for these initiatives was also discussed.

The meeting concluded with agreement to organize a series of joint workshops and activities in the near future, reinforcing collaboration and consolidating the University’s role as an active national platform supporting youth and community development initiatives.
