Palestine Technical University–Kadoorie (PTUK) has maintained its distinguished international standing for the second consecutive year by securing a place in the prestigious QS World University Rankings, one of the world's most recognized higher education rankings. The University was ranked within the 1201–1400 category globally and placed third among Palestinian universities, reaffirming its growing academic and research reputation on the international stage despite the exceptional circumstances and complex challenges facing higher education institutions, including ongoing financial pressures affecting public universities.
This achievement reflects the University's continued commitment to implementing its developmental plans and achieving qualitative progress across academic, research, and technological fields, demonstrating its ability to maintain competitiveness and international visibility.
PTUK President, Prof. Hussein Shanak emphasized that retaining the University's position in the QS World University Rankings for a second consecutive year represents both a national and institutional achievement, particularly given the difficult conditions under which Palestinian higher education institutions operate. He noted that maintaining an international ranking and strengthening the University's global presence are clear indicators of its resilience and its ability to continue advancing and delivering on its mission despite ongoing challenges.
Prof. Shanak stated that this accomplishment is the result of a collective effort involving academic and administrative staff, students, alumni, university partners, and both local and international stakeholders. He expressed his appreciation to all members of the University community for their dedication, commitment, and continued contribution to the institution's educational and national mission.
He further noted that the University's continued success in international rankings, scientific research, and academic quality reflects the effectiveness of its strategic vision aimed at building a leading institution with a strong impact at both the national and international levels.
He also added that the University remains committed to enhancing its academic and research programs and strengthening its learning environment, efforts that contribute to improving educational outcomes and preparing qualified, innovative, and entrepreneurial graduates capable of making meaningful contributions to their communities and the labor market. For his part, Prof. Saed Malak, Assistant to the President for International Rankings, explained that the QS World University Rankings is widely regarded as one of the most influential and credible global university ranking systems. The ranking is based on a range of indicators related to academic reputation, research performance, employability, sustainability, and international engagement, making it a key benchmark for assessing institutional performance and global standing.
Prof. Malak noted that the University's continued inclusion in this prestigious ranking reflects the significant progress achieved in recent years in scientific research, educational quality, and international cooperation. He added that this accomplishment demonstrates the success of the University's institutional efforts to enhance its academic reputation and strengthen its position within the global higher education landscape.
