Economic Empowerment Program Launched PTUK

The Union of Agricultural Work Committees (UAWC) launched the first stage for the economic empowerment program for the Palestinian youth from Palestine Technical University-Kadoorie.
The launch came within the context of a workshop which targeted students and graduates from the Faculty of Agricultural Science and Technology in order to advance pioneering ideas in the field of agriculture.
In this context, the Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Science and Technology, Dr. Tahseen Sayerah explained that the college of Science and Technology has been keen on the development of new programs that would help reduce the high rates of unemployment in the Palestinian society.
In turn, the Project Director of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Tala Khalifa, explained that the empowerment program is the product of developing economic empowerment strategies, adding that the project has chosen to focus on the agricultural sector due to the possibility of self-employment.
It is worth mentioning in this context that the project will be implemented by the Union of Agricultural Work Committees (UAWC) and will be funded by the Islamic Development Bank through the UNDP and the Palestinian People's Aid Program in partnership with the Ministry of Social Development.
