PTUK Hosts Al Quds Athletics Championship

Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie hosted Al Quds Athletics Championships for the Palestinian universities with the participation of PTUK, Birzeit University, Al Quds University, An Najah University and Arab-American University in presence of the universities’ representatives in the Palestinian Sports Federation.
During the opening ceremony, the Dean of the Students’ Affairs, Dr. Husein Shanak said that PTUK chose this type of host to reflect the university’s vision in serving the community especially in the field of sport which witnesses a continuous infrastructural development.
He added that these competitions, which included discus throw, javelin throw, shot put, high jump, long jump and triple jump is an opportunity for athletes from all the Palestinian universities to meet, compete and exchange experiences.
For his part, Dr. Thabet Shtewi, a Palestinian universities’ sport representative, said that the federation seeks to strengthen the sports spirit among the players in the Palestinian universities and to promote sport to leverage the state of Palestine in the international community.
