PTUK Inaugurates Hajjah Aisha Samara Engineering Lab

Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie PTUK inaugurated the “Hajjah Aisha Abdul Latif Samara Laboratory” at the Faculty of Engineering. The lab, equipped with 25 advanced engineering computers valued at USD 25,000, was made possible through a generous donation from Mr. Mufeed Mahmoud and his wife Hajjah Aisha Samara. The ceremony was attended by members of the donor family, including Mr. Ghassan Mahmoud and Mr. Abdullah Samara representing the donors.

The inauguration was held in the presence of PTUK Vice President for Administrative Affairs Prof. Rizq Isteiteyeh, Assistant to the President for Planning, Development and Quality Dr. Ahmad Shwaika, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Dr. Jaafar Al-Masri, Dean of Student Affairs Dr. Alaa Issa, Director of the Media and Public Relations Unit Mr. Azmi Saleh, Director of the Competency Center Mr. Samer Al-Sa’bi, along with several department heads, faculty staff, representatives of the Student Youth Movement, and the Student Union Council.

PTUK President Prof. Hussein Shanak expressed his deep gratitude for the generous contribution, stressing its importance for all engineering disciplines. He noted that the lab represents the most advanced facility of its kind at the university in terms of efficiency and quality. Prof. Shanak added that PTUK is committed to leading in the introduction of innovative engineering and programming programs, highlighting the university’s pioneering adoption of Artificial Intelligence as a major—before any other Palestinian university.

For his part, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Jaafar Al-Masri, thanked the donors and emphasized the importance of expanding such facilities in the future to keep pace with rapid technological advancements, serving students’ needs while enhancing their skills, knowledge, and capabilities.

The new laboratory consists of 25 computers and is fully equipped to meet the academic and practical requirements of students in engineering and programming disciplines.
