The Al-Aroub branch of Palestine Technical University–Kadoorie hosted the “Expo: Employment Day and Exhibition of National and Heritage Products” on Sunday. The event was held under the patronage of Hebron Governor Khaled Dodeen and Minister of Labor Dr. Enas Al-Attari, and organized in partnership with the North Hebron Chamber of Commerce and Industry, PTUK, the Ministry of Labor, and the “Wazifati” project funded by the French Consulate and implemented by the Hebron Community Center for Youth and Adult Education.

The event was attended by University President Prof. Hussein Shanak, Board of Trustees representative Rafiq Abu Menshar, Chairman of the North Hebron Chamber of Commerce Mahmoud Allan, partner representative from the Hebron Community Center Jamil Darbashi, President of the Businessmen Forum Mohammad Ghazi Al-Qawasmi, along with representatives of official, civil, and private institutions, and members of the university community.

In his opening remarks, Prof. Shanak welcomed participants, emphasizing that hosting this event at the Al-Aroub branch reflects the university’s mission to expand its academic and community services and enhance equitable access to education and training. He reaffirmed that PTUK continues to broaden its programs and partnerships despite challenges, strengthening its academic presence and supporting the national economy and society.

Prof. Shanak highlighted the university’s progress in building a modern educational structure aligned with labor-market needs through integrated learning and professional preparation. He pointed to PTUK’s advancement in the QS and THE global rankings as evidence of its commitment to quality, innovation, and research.

He also stressed the importance of applied and technical programs that help students transition smoothly from classroom learning to professional practice, noting that PTUK’s applied-education model has become a national example. He further underscored the value of partnerships with local and international institutions, which extend beyond training and employment to include joint research, professional development, and entrepreneurship-support initiatives—opening broad opportunities for PTUK students in the knowledge economy.

Prof. Shanak added that this employment day embodies the university’s vision of making education a driver of economic growth, linking academic efforts to real-world needs, and supporting the private sector in absorbing young talent. He noted that the exhibition of national and heritage products strengthens cultural identity and bolsters the local economy.

Governor Khaled Dodeen emphasized the importance of effective public-private partnerships in strengthening economic resilience and empowering youth.
