Palestine Technical University–Kadoorie PTUK welcomed a delegation of directors from Palestinian governmental and private hospitals, in a meeting led by University President Prof. Hussein Shanak and Board of Trustees member Dr. Netham Najeeb Abdel Haleem.
The visit aimed to strengthen cooperation and expand practical training opportunities for students of the allied medical sciences, as well as explore avenues for collaboration in applied research and community service.
The delegation included Dr. Haitham Shadeed, Director of Thabet Thabet Governmental Hospital; Dr. Ismail Al-Hafi, Director of Al-Isra Specialized Hospital; and Dr. Mohammad Obeid, Director of the Arab Specialized Hospital. The meeting was also attended by Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Moatamad Al-Khateeb, Vice President for Administrative and Financial Affairs Prof. Rizq Estetieh, Assistant to the President for Academic Cooperation Prof. Rana Samara, Assistant to the President for Planning and Development Dr. Ahmad Shweika, and Dean of the College of Allied Medical Sciences Dr. Rabab Jarrar.
Prof. Shanak emphasized that the establishment of the College of Allied Medical Sciences and its accredited programs in nutrition, medical laboratory sciences, medical imaging, and diagnostic radiology reflects the university’s commitment to preparing highly qualified professionals who meet the needs of Palestinian healthcare institutions.
He added that PTUK is building strong partnerships that integrate students into real clinical environments, where theoretical knowledge is linked directly to practical and therapeutic applications.
Representatives of the hospitals expressed their readiness to provide suitable clinical training environments for PTUK students, noting that this cooperation will help supply the healthcare sector with well-prepared professionals.
They also highlighted the importance of developing joint initiatives, such as advanced training programs, applied research projects, and clinical activities that contribute to improving the quality of health services.
This meeting comes as part of PTUK’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its relationships with community institutions in order to enhance the quality of applied education in allied medical fields.
