Student Mohammad Khalil Ayyasi from the Faculty of Engineering at Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie participated, upon invitation from the Indian Embassy, in a high-level discussion panel to present his academic exchange experience in India.
The session brought together prominent academic and professional figures who have undertaken similar experiences, reflecting the University’s strategic commitment to student empowerment and international engagement.
Ayyasi previously took part in a student exchange program in Jaipur at JECRC University, where he spent three months conducting research on “Hydraulic Performance of Long-Distance Water Transmission Pipelines,” gaining valuable academic and research experience.
During the panel, he highlighted key aspects of his academic journey, including challenges, opportunities, and the intellectual and cultural impact of the experience on his personal and academic development. He also offered practical insights and guidance to students interested in pursuing international exchange opportunities.
The session featured distinguished participants, including Dr. Riyad Abu Shahada, banking expert at the Central Bank of Oman and former Deputy Governor of the Palestine Monetary Authority; Mr. Majed Al-Fityani, Secretary-General of Fatah’s Revolutionary Council and former Governor of Jericho; and Ms. Muna Al-Ayyan, PhD researcher (ICCR) in Architecture and Planning at IIT Roorkee. The discussion emphasized the role of international exposure in capacity building and broadening academic horizons.
On the sidelines of the event, Ayyasi engaged in a direct discussion with the Indian Ambassador, Ms. Mahima Sekhri, exploring prospects for strengthening academic and cultural cooperation and expanding joint student exchange programs between Palestine and India.
In this context, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Moatamad Al-Khatib, affirmed that such participation reflects the University’s long-term vision of preparing globally engaged graduates, capable of interacting with diverse academic systems and cultures. He noted that the University takes pride in students who represent Palestine with distinction and contribute to building a dynamic and innovative generation.
