Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie graduated participants of a specialized training course in photography, television production, and video editing, organized by the Continuing Education Department within the Deanship of Development and Community Service.
The closing ceremony was attended by Tulkarm Governor Maj. Gen. Dr. Abdullah Kmeil, University President Prof. Hussein Shanak, Dean of Development and Community Service Dr. Raed Al-Qarout, and staff members of the Deanship.
In his remarks, Prof. Shanak welcomed attendees and reaffirmed the University’s commitment to building effective partnerships with governmental, security, and civil institutions. He emphasized the University’s role in serving the local community and enhancing participants’ practical skills, particularly in media and visual production fields aligned with labor market demands.
He noted that media is no longer limited to traditional news dissemination but has become a central component in shaping public awareness, crafting impactful messages, and managing institutional identity. He highlighted the University’s advanced focus on this sector through specialized academic and training programs aimed at keeping pace with rapid developments and preparing qualified professionals capable of utilizing modern media tools effectively.
For his part, Governor Dr. Abdullah Kmeil conveyed greetings from President Mahmoud Abbas, stressing the importance of such training initiatives conducted in partnership with the University. He underscored the significance of media and its message, particularly in light of the challenges facing the Palestinian people, and highlighted the need to further develop media capacities in the era of digital transformation.
The training program, implemented and supervised by the Department of Media Technology, provided participants with practical skills in photography, television production, and editing. It covered key topics such as visual composition, lighting techniques, visual storytelling, audio-visual processing, and public communication, within a hands-on training approach designed to equip participants with the competencies needed to produce professional media content.
A total of 20 participants graduated after completing 20 training hours, encompassing both theoretical and practical components in photography, editing, and digital media. Participants expressed strong engagement throughout the course and emphasized the importance of such programs in enhancing their practical skills and professional readiness.
