Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie (PTUK), represented by the Deanship of Development and Community Service through its Continuing Education Department, has launched two specialized training courses in hybrid and electric vehicle maintenance. The initiative comes in response to the growing demand for qualified technical professionals in this field and aligns with the rapid expansion of hybrid and electric vehicle usage in the Palestinian market.
The courses are being offered amid the increasing adoption of hybrid and electric vehicles, driven by technological advancements and rising fuel costs. This trend has created a growing need for skilled technicians equipped with the knowledge and practical competencies required to work with these advanced automotive technologies.
PTUK reaffirmed its commitment to its leading role in linking academic education with technical training by offering academic programs in Automotive Engineering at both the bachelor's and diploma levels, alongside specialized training programs designed to meet labor market demands and enhance the capabilities of professionals and enthusiasts in the field.
As part of its community engagement mission, the Deanship of Development and Community Service has made the courses available at nominal training fees, taking into consideration current economic conditions and seeking to expand access to professional training opportunities for different segments of society.
The training program was inaugurated by Mr. Amer Yaseen, Director of the Continuing Education Department, and Mr. Murad Al-Da'mah, Head of the Training and Development Division, in the presence of the course instructor, Engineer Ibrahim Miskawi. During the opening session, Miskawi explained that the program has been designed in line with labor market needs and global trends toward clean transportation technologies. He noted that the training is delivered according to the German standard DGUV Information 209-093, which governs the qualification of technicians working with high-voltage vehicle systems.
Mr. Yaseen welcomed the participants and wished them success throughout the program, emphasizing the University's commitment to providing high-quality training opportunities that keep pace with technological developments and respond to the needs of both society and the labor market. Mr. Al-Da'mah also outlined the training regulations, implementation procedures, assessment mechanisms, and certification requirements for participants.
