The presidential decree to form the Board of Trustees of Palestine Technical University -‎Kadoorie was issued in April 2020 based on Cabinet Resolution No. 3, 2020.‎
The first Board of Trustees included 19 members from different backgrounds, including ‎academic figures in various fields of science, representatives of sectors of a number of ‎government institutions, civil society institutions, and active economic and political figures in ‎society.‎
The following are general rules and tasks assigned to the members of the Board of Trustees: ‎
  • The president and members of the council are appointed by a decree issued by the president ‎of the State. ‎
  • A full term of a member can last up to three years with a term limit of two terms. ‎
  • The Council elects a member as a vice-president and another member to serve as a secretary.  ‎
  • The council also selects a member as its president and other members serve as permanent ‎committee members such as: public relations, finance, promotion and scholarships.‎
  • The council meets at least once every two months in addition to exceptional sessions that are ‎held at the request of one third of the members.‎
  • The system defines the tasks and powers of the council, which support and integrate with the ‎tasks and powers of the two main partners, namely the Ministry of Higher Education and ‎Scientific Research and the university administration. ‎
